Our corporate philosophy

in order to make you feel at home in HOTEL WESTEND, we would like to tell you a little bit about the history of the hotel.

The WESTEND was built in the 90s of the last century by master builder Pietro Delugan, at that time sounding architect name, for himself on the Stefanie - Promenade, today Passerpromenade, as a special calling card for his building skills. A jewel that was recognized in time and placed under the protection of the Superintendence for Architectural Heritage in 1984.

in 1907 the property was purchased by the Pöder family and opened as Pension WESTEND. Despite the greatest difficulties, the pension survived two world wars and it was only thanks to the hard work and idealism of the hotelier family that the hotel remained a pension even during the difficult years. The WESTEND has had a number of illustrious guests. In particular, we would like to mention the famous German poet Gottfried Benn with his famous poems to Merano and the letters from the WESTEND to his friends:

In 1983 the house changed owners and it was a lucky coincidence that it was acquired by a long-established, traditional hotelier family (the Strohmer family, already owners of the Hotel Europa Splendid). With much feeling the house was renovated and adapted to the newest requirements. Fam. Strohmer: We were well aware of the fact that such a privileged house, which offers so much real quality of life due to its location, its construction and its very natural advantages, means a very special responsibility.

The beautiful, sunny rooms, the many balconies, the airy dining room, the dignified lounges and last but not least the beautiful garden, had to be equipped with modern comfort. Thus, we have carried out extensive renovations, always keeping people in mind first and foremost, their needs, their demands, their safety, their well-being, their relaxation, and last but not least, their healthy sleep.

So today we can proudly say that our guests feel comfortable with us and at this point we would like to thank our many regular customers for their loyalty.
