Tradition meets innovation, warmth meets team spirit: The family-run 4-star Superior Hotel GUT Trattlerhof & Chalets in Bad Kleinkirchheim has stood for exceptional hospitality, a spirit of mutual respect, and environmentally friendly management for five generations.
Together with the Forstnig family, who run the inn, the Trattler staff work every day to ensure that guests feel completely at home and experience unforgettable “I feel GUT” moments. Many long-time employees and loyal regular guests contribute to the family-like atmosphere and make the GUTshof a special place to work and vacation.
There are numerous recreational activities available, such as the on-site riding stable, horse-drawn carriage rides, e-mobility (on-site Tesla and e-bike rentals), as well as numerous charging stations and much more. In addition, the team and the Forstnig family, who run the property, manage a luxurious chalet village (70 beds) located about 450 meters away, as well as the mountain hut restaurant “Trattlers Einkehr” (120 seats).
The restaurant is part of the successful "GenussWirt" culinary initiative and has been awarded 83 points and one fork in the Falstaff guide. The mountain hut restaurant has also been awarded 4.5 out of 5 "Slow Food snails."

The Hotel GUT Trattlerhof & Chalets looks back on 500 years of history. The Trattler family and the Forstnig family have been running the GUTshof for more than 140 years—with a special flair for hospitality and an ecological conscience that continually inspires new vacation ideas. The Hotel GUT Trattlerhof and the Trattler Farm Chalets are among the most renowned establishments in Bad Kleinkirchheim.
As an award-winning training facility, the Trattlerhof is committed to quality, supporting young talent, and providing forward-looking training. In addition, the hotel has been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel and the ECO-Label and is one of the coveted Change Maker Hotels. In 2026, the hotel once again received the coveted HolidayCheck Award, making it one of the 10 most popular accommodations in Carinthia. In 2025, the Trattlerhof was honored with the Travelers’ Choice Award from TripAdvisor. Through responsible corporate management and targeted measures, the hotel has achieved GOLD status in the SDI Awards.
With its 60 rooms and suites in the hotel, as well as 14 luxury chalets, the GUTshof is a pleasantly manageable size, allowing for attentive, personalized service.
