Our corporate philosophy

The ****S Romantik SPA Hotel Elixhauserwirt is now run by Michaela Gmachl, the 23rd generation of the family. Located just 5 km from the city of Salzburg, Austria’s oldest family-run business is situated in beautiful Elixhausen. Open year-round, it is one of the leading establishments in Salzburg and the surrounding area and was named “Employer of the Year” in 2013. “Well-being is in our nature” is our motto, which stands for enjoyment, relaxation, and a sense of security.

Our multi-award-winning, Michelin-starred kitchen offers traditional Austrian and creative delicacies, which our guests can enjoy in our lovingly renovated dining rooms or in our charming outdoor dining area.

Our guests can unwind at the GMACHL Panorama SPA “Horizont,” a 1,500-square-meter facility that offers a fantastic panoramic view of the Salzburg mountains, an indoor pool with an open fireplace, a sauna area with a relaxation pavilion, and a separate ladies’ spa.

The satisfaction, productivity, and loyalty of our approximately 80 employees are very important to us. That is why we recently built a new employee housing complex with 36 comfortable units for our employees in September 2013. Since health is also a priority for us, we offer a workplace wellness program called “GMACHL Herzblut” that includes sports and recreational activities for all employees.
We want our Elixhauserwirt team to feel at home with us and to stay with the company for as long as possible. That’s why we offer regular training sessions and incentives, as well as competitive pay.
