Located in the heart of Murau’s historic district in Styria, our historic hotel has been synonymous with family-style hospitality and a warm, welcoming atmosphere for over 300 years. Our attention to detail is evident throughout—especially in our cozy rooms, which come in various categories (Budget Rooms 3*, Murau Rooms 4*, and Hotel Rooms 4*).
Our à la carte restaurant offers a menu featuring a daily special that may include a variety of regional, national, and international dishes. Depending on the season and what nature has to offer, we serve daily specialties ranging from goose to chamois, and from asparagus to wild mushrooms. Traditional local cuisine and homemade desserts are our passion. Our close collaboration with farmers, fishermen, and hunters from the region and all across Austria is reflected in our lovingly prepared dishes—true to the motto: Styrian cuisine with Austrian diversity and a dash of vision.
Our wine cellar houses specialties from the classic Styrian and Austrian ranges, as well as excellent natural wines and a few rare finds.
Of course, the bar also serves Murauer beer, which has been brewed for 525 years.
We welcome both business travelers and vacationers, including cyclists, golfers, hikers, and culture enthusiasts in the summer. In the winter, the Murau region offers a full range of classic and modern winter sports—making it the perfect starting point for an enjoyable snow-filled getaway.
