Our corporate philosophy

This historic yet modern youth hostel is located right next to the Schaidberg and is perfectly equipped to ensure that school groups, youth groups, and families have a thoroughly enjoyable stay in the well-known winter sports resort of Obertauern.
The facility has 170 beds—mostly comfortable 4- to 6-bed rooms with a shower and toilet. For group activities, there are four dining and common rooms, a chill-out lounge, a disco, and numerous indoor game options such as table tennis, foosball, and air hockey. The facilities are complemented by a kiosk and a convenient ski and drying room.

The house underwent extensive renovations in 2013, resulting in all rooms being equipped with a shower and toilet and modern common areas being made available. In addition, the kitchen was upgraded to meet today’s technical and functional requirements for group catering.
In 2022, we made further significant investments—including new dining and lounge areas, a spacious back office, and new staff rooms. This ensures that both our guests and our team feel completely at home.
Thanks to its long tradition, the Schaidberg Youth Hostel is well known not only to locals but also to many visitors to Obertauern. The “young austria” accommodation network is the owner and exclusive booking partner for children’s and youth groups as well as family trips at the hostel. Our goal is to offer our young, international guests the highest quality in terms of organization and service.
