Description
We are looking for a dedicated Chef de Rang to provide service to our long-time regular guests for the winter season, starting around November 22, 2025.
We’d like to briefly introduce ourselves:
About Us: We are a 51-room, 4-star hotel with a restaurant open all day (hot meals served from 12:00 PM to 9:30 PM). We treat our guests to half-board and a ski snack between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Half-board includes a generous breakfast buffet from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM (also available à la carte); dinner consists of a 4-course menu with a choice of main courses, plus a daily salad bar and cheese bar. Once a week, we serve a farmhouse buffet or a specialty buffet (always on Saturday, which is our main arrival day); in addition, once a week we offer a sparkling wine breakfast, a dessert buffet, a strudel buffet, and more.
Our philosophy: “Nothing is impossible!” or “All right—top-notch!” We work together as a team, support one another, and especially during peak times, we stick together. We have many loyal regular guests, many of whom have been coming to us for years and even decades! We’re very proud of this and want to build on our success. At our core, we’re a family-run business with 26 employees. The hotel was built by our grandparents and is now in its third generation of family ownership. Personalized service is our top priority—we’re all about avoiding the mass-production approach!

Requirements
As a Chef de Rang, you’re the host—the heart and soul of our restaurant! You’re responsible for ensuring that everything runs smoothly at your station and for taking care of your guests. You embody Austrian hospitality, and your job isn’t just a job—it’s a calling for you.
Responsibilities:
- Upscale food and beverage service
- Wine recommendations and wine presentation to guests
- Beverage and inventory management & ordering
- Setting up and supervising various buffets / breakfast buffet
- Daily mise en place and cleaning duties
- Billing and payment processing (issuing invoices, accepting payments—e.g., cash or card—and managing the cash register/room charges)
Work schedule: 6-dayworkweek starting in early January 2026 Proficiency in the language required at a minimum C1 level according to the CEFR
Independent work in our hotel restaurant in the center of Obertauern—working independently on your own station with a Comis de Rang—food and beverage service—wine recommendations and wine service—several years of experience in this profession and in upscale dining
