Description

Are you creative and passionate about cooking? Are you a food hunter and trendsetter in the kitchen? The Hotel Edelweiss in Zürs is one of the most traditional hotels in the Arlberg region, offering an extensive culinary range every day thanks to its several restaurants.  The weekly working hours are 51 hours spread over 6 days. Due to a staff member being off sick, the position will start as soon as possible and is expected to last until April 15, 2026.

 

The services offered at Hotel Edelweiss include the following areas:

  • À la carte lunch on the sun terrace (from mid-February) or in the Edelspeis restaurant
  • Evening menu for hotel guests and external guests
  • A la carte restaurant for hotel guests and external guests
  • Production for our Flexenhäusl ski lodge
  • Staff catering for the Edelweiss team
 
As head garde manger, you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Preparation and cooking of all cold dishes
  • Independent organization of the post
  • Active involvement in the menu
  • Instruction of kitchen assistants or assigned commis de cuisine
  • Responsibility for ensuring smooth operations at the Gardemanger station 
  • Working in accordance with all HACCP aspects
  • Flexenhäusl: Ski lodge, approx. 1 km from the hotel – production kitchen in the hotel, classic ski slope dishes at lunchtime, fondue in the evening.
  • Sun terrace: from mid-February Sun terrace – menu similar to Edelweiss Bar
  • Staff meals: Meals provided for the Edelweiss team 24/7
qualification
  • Training as a chef or related profession
  • Several years of experience in this position, at least most recently as a demi chef gardemanger
  • Knowledge of Austrian cuisine
  • Very good English skills (kitchen language = English/German)
  • Active interest in the overall operations of the company
  • Enthusiasm for innovation and trends
  • Clean, neat appearance
  • Team player, flexible, and resilient
  • Resilient, proven ability to handle stressful situations during service
