Description

A special place needs special hosts. The dining rooms at Propstei St. Gerold are synonymous with fine dining, regional quality, and genuine hospitality. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a restaurant manager to start in March 2026 who can take the lead, embodies service, and combines organization with heart and structure.

Requirements

Your role with us

As restaurant manager, you are the linchpin of our service department. You manage day-to-day operations, actively participate in service, and work with the kitchen and operations management to ensure smooth operations and a high-quality guest experience.

 

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Operational management of day-to-day business and active involvement in service
  • Independent organization and execution of events (inquiries, group confirmations, menus, wine recommendations, decoration)
  • Professional handling of complaints, including documentation for quality improvement
  • Responsibility for the correct programming and accounting of the restaurant cash register
  • Shared responsibility for budget targets and cost-effective working
  • Optimization of service and operational processes
  • Active sales of beverages and products in the monastery shop
  • Organization of daily events
  • Close cooperation with management, kitchen, and reception
  • Creating duty rosters for the service area

Training of apprentices and further training of the service team

 

What you bring to the table

  • Completed training in gastronomy or several years of experience in service 
  • Experience in upscale gastronomy is an advantage
  • Enjoy working with people and have a strong host mentality
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and sales orientation
  • Structured, independent way of working and quick comprehension
  • Strong team spirit, clear communication, and confident manner
  • Well-groomed appearance and a sense of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a sense of responsibility
  • Minimum age 25
  • Driver's license
  • Willingness to work weekends (free weekends are also provided)
