As Sous Chef, you’ll assist our Head Chef with the day-to-day organization and management of the kitchen and, together with the team, ensure that our guests are delighted by our culinary offerings.
Your Responsibilities
- Supporting and standing in for the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations
- Organizing and coordinating workflows in the kitchen
- Leading, motivating, and supporting the kitchen team
- Actively participating in the preparation and service of our dishes
- Ensuring consistently high quality and attractive presentation
- Preparing and organizing the mise en place
- Helping to design menus and dishes
- Monitoring the quality of ingredients and assisting with orders and inventory counts
- Compliance with and monitoring of hygiene and HACCP guidelines
- Assisting with the onboarding and training of new team members
- Responsible and cost-effective handling of food and resources
Requirements
- Completed training as a chef
- Several years of professional experience in upscale restaurants or the hospitality industry
- Ideally, initial experience in a management or deputy position
- In-depth knowledge of food products, kitchen organization, and food safety
- Proficiency in HACCP standards
- Creativity and a strong commitment to quality
- Good command of the German language; knowledge of other languages is a plus
