As a long-established company, we take pride in continuously developing the 5-star Hotel Das Central in Sölden—one of the leading hotels in the Alps—with warmth, mutual trust, and a spirit of innovation.

Our corporate philosophy

The five-star Hotel Das Central, located in the heart of Sölden, is an integral part of the town’s success story as a world-renowned ski destination. Since 1969, the hotel has been run by the founding Falkner family with great passion, dedication, and a spirit of innovation. With a successful blend of Tyrolean tradition and Alpine lifestyle—reflected in the creative design of its rooms and suites—this renowned, time-honored hotel offers luxurious elegance and the utmost in enjoyment on every level. The Ötztaler Stube, Sölden’s only restaurant with three “Hauben” and a Michelin star, serves culinary masterpieces, while the two-Hauben cuisine at ice Q, located at 3,048 meters, indulges guests with alpine haute cuisine of the highest caliber in a stylish lounge atmosphere. The wine cellar, with its collection of 30,000 bottles, is a treasure trove for wine lovers—whether it’s an exquisite rarity or the PINO 3000, aged at an altitude of 3,000 meters. Wine takes center stage not only during the annual “Wein am Berg” festival. Since late November 2023, the new Summit Spa—featuring various saunas, relaxation rooms, and a rooftop infinity pool—has been the perfect way to unwind after action-packed days of winter sports, biking, or hiking.

THE ÖTZTAL HAS A LOT TO OFFER!

Whether it’s skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, cross-country skiing, or ski touring—the mountains around Sölden truly have something to offer every winter sports enthusiast. Those who prefer ice climbing can also enjoy this hobby at over 20 waterfalls in the Ötztal Valley. You can also enjoy your free time on wonderful snowshoe hikes. Those who prefer to stay in the valley can recharge their batteries with winter running, ice skating, or at the sports and tennis hall at the Freizeit Arena Sölden.

Even in summer, the Ötztal is incredibly charming and diverse. The 700 km of well-maintained bike paths, forest trails, and gravel roads winding through the valley are particularly popular. But wonderful hiking trails leading to alpine pastures, swimming lakes, and mineral spring resorts also continually draw active travelers to the valley who are seeking relaxation. Horseback riding stables, mini-golf and indoor golf courses, bowling alleys, and paragliding launch sites guarantee nonstop recreational fun. As an outdoor highlight, Area 47 is known far beyond the borders of Tyrol and offers a wide range of recreational activities.

What we offer our employees

Deeply rooted, aiming high—that’s how we live it internally, too. As a traditional and visionary company, our People & Culture team makes sure the entire team is doing well. Because what matters most is that we get along great. And so we’re a team full of great people—as they say in the Ötztal Valley when you come across the really good ones. People who inspire, roll up their sleeves, excel at their jobs, and are eager to learn new things.

And of course, we’re happy to offer our team members plenty of perks: free lodging in comfortable accommodations, as well as breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack, and dinner at the hotel. On top of that, there are numerous regional benefits and free access to the hotel’s fitness center. Whether it’s a day on the mountain, a delicious lunch at one of our mountain restaurants, or a relaxing evening in the hotel’s wellness area—we want to ensure that not only our guests but also our team have everything they need.
