Description
You’ve got your own station under control—but for us, it’s about more than just a perfect service process.
You’re attentive, responsive to our guests, and able to recognize what they need. You’re familiar with our food and drinks, can make recommendations, and enjoy helping our guests discover the perfect wine or drink to pair with their meal.
From mise en place and table setup to the actual service, billing, payment collection, and closing out, you take full responsibility for your station.
At the same time, you’ll serve as the point of contact for commis de rang, apprentices, and interns. You’ll support them during daily service, share your knowledge, and work with the entire restaurant team to ensure a professional and respectful work environment.
And if something doesn’t go according to plan, you’ll find a good solution—straightforward, professional, and always with the guest in mind.
Requirements
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independently managing and organizing your station
- Providing personal and professional service to our guests from the moment they arrive until they depart
- Providing recommendations on our food, beverages, and wines
- Authentic upselling and personalized recommendations
- Ensuring a smooth service experience in accordance with our quality standards
- Preparing for and executing service shifts
- Mise en place, table preparation, and checking and restocking the buffets
- Guiding and supporting commis de rang, apprentices, and interns
- Properly ringing up orders, collecting payments, and handling accounts for your own station
- Handling guest requests and complaints in a professional and solution-oriented manner
- Adherence to our service, hygiene, and quality standards
- Close collaboration with restaurant management, the kitchen, the bar, and other departments at the Forsthofalm
- Supporting the entire service team when it matters most
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
For us, it’s not just about how many years you’ve worked in the service industry. What matters most is that you enjoy being a host or hostess, take responsibility for your section, and take pleasure in ensuring our guests have a special evening.
- Completed training in the restaurant or hospitality industry, or comparable practical experience
- Ideally, at least two years of experience in upscale service
- Career changers with relevant service experience are also welcome
- Good knowledge of food and beverages
- Wine knowledge is a plus
- Enjoy providing advice, making recommendations, and engaging in authentic upselling
- Skills in professionally handling guest requests and complaints
- Basic knowledge of allergens and hygiene regulations
- Confident, friendly, and well-groomed demeanor
- Enjoys direct contact with people
- A structured, reliable, and independent work style
- A sense of responsibility for your own station
- Team spirit and respectful communication
- Enjoyment of sharing knowledge with commis chefs, apprentices, and interns
- Calm and a clear overview, even when the restaurant is busy
