You are a strong operational leader with management skills, a strategic overview, and high culinary standards. You view the kitchen as a blend of craftsmanship, structure, efficiency, and responsibility. If so, a key position with real impact awaits you at Secret Moments.

As Executive Sous Chef (m/f/d), you will serve as the direct support and representative of the Executive Chef / Director of Culinary Operations. In this role, you will share responsibility for the operational and personnel management of the kitchen organization within Secret Moments and its locations. You will ensure that quality, standards, cost-effectiveness, and professional leadership are consistently implemented in daily operations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Direct support of the Executive Chef / Culinary Director in day-to-day operations
  • Professional representation of the kitchen management in their absence
  • Leading, managing, and developing the kitchen staff within Secret Moments and its locations
  • Ensuring smooth operations in all relevant kitchen areas
  • Responsibility for quality, consistency, structure, and a professionally organized kitchen operation
  • Consistent implementation, monitoring, and further development of all HACCP, hygiene, and safety standards
  • Shared responsibility for costing, food cost, cost control, and economically sound kitchen management
  • Contributing to the further development of existing culinary concepts as well as brand and quality standards
  • Training, mentoring, and development of kitchen staff and managers
  • Close collaboration with management, operational leadership teams, and individual locations

What this position requires

This role requires personality, presence, and strong leadership. You recognize what a team needs at any given moment: motivation, clarity, consistency, or a firm directive. Your authority is based on skill, attitude, and decisiveness, and you exercise it when necessary. You develop employees, enforce standards, and provide clear direction at all times. In doing so, you serve as a trainer, role model, and reliable sparring partner all at once.

High-level cooking is second nature to you. At the same time, you understand the economic, organizational, and interpersonal aspects of modern kitchen management. You think in a solution-oriented way, act in a structured manner, and bring a professional mindset that is well-suited to a demanding environment.

Requirements

Your Profile

  • Several years of professional experience in a position of responsibility within the upscale hotel or restaurant industry
  • Ideally, experience in 5-star hotels, award-winning restaurants, and/or high-end catering
  • Strong leadership skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Confident demeanor, natural authority, and a keen sense of people and dynamics
  • Excellent understanding of quality, timing, organization, and operational processes
  • In-depth knowledge of HACCP, hygiene, and food safety
  • Experience in cost calculation, cost of goods sold, and efficient kitchen management
  • A structured, resilient, and loyal personality with a broad professional background
  • High personal standards of quality and a professional work ethic
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English

What we’re looking for

We are not looking for an administrative role, but rather a leader with presence, substance, and a broad perspective. Someone who combines operational strength with leadership qualities. Someone who takes responsibility, develops teams, ensures standards are met, and actively supports and further develops the culinary direction of Secret Moments together with the Executive Chef.
