To strengthen our team, we are looking for a reliable Head Chef (m/f/d) who is accustomed to leading by example and actively participating in the team. You will be responsible for organization (creating menus, ordering & inventory management, scheduling, and monitoring hygiene) and ensuring smooth operations in the kitchen. Creative ideas for menus and buffets come naturally to you, and you understand the essence of the dining experience. You have a solid understanding of cost-effective purchasing and food cost management and are also confident in calculating costs.
Your responsibilities:
- Staff scheduling
- Typical duties of a head chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Current system: Appetizer, salad, soup, and dessert buffets; 2 or 3 main courses to choose from, depending on the season, served from the kitchen
- Contributing ideas to menu planning
- Active participation in cooking and preparing the menus
- Ordering supplies and shopping
- General kitchen supervision with the team: (dishwashing, storage, cold storage, etc.) and monitoring of hygiene standards
- Organizing and supervising the buffets
- Compliance with and monitoring of HACCP regulations
- Careful handling of food required
- Diligent maintenance of temperature and cleaning logs and their monitoring
Requirements
- Completed training as a chef
- Several years of experience in the restaurant or hotel industry
- Team player
- Knowledge of inventory management and food cost calculation
- Leadership experience
- Creativity in food presentation and a passion for the product
- Ability to work independently and in an organized manner
- Team spirit and strong communication skills
- Enjoyment of contributing ideas
- Language skills
German
B2 (good intermediate level)
