A Chef de Rang manages their own service station— with responsibility, discretion, and style. From the aperitif to the digestif , they attentively guide guests, offer advice on food and wine, and ensure that everything runs smoothly . At the same time, they serve as the main point of contact for colleagues in the commis or demi-service areas, work closely with the kitchen, and actively contribute to the restaurant’s atmosphere .
Requirements
What counts is expertise, a positive demeanor, and the ability to connect with people—whether during a casual breakfast service or an upscale evening service. Those who thrive in this role strike a balance between routine and improvisation, maintain a clear overview during hectic moments, and deliver authentic, attentive service.
