Requirements
Wine advice
- Advising guests on wine selection
- Recommend matching wines to dishes (food & wine pairing)
- Imparting knowledge about growing regions, grape varieties, vintages
Create & maintain wine list
- Compiling and updating the wine list
- Taking trends, regional specialties and customer preferences into account
Ordering & stock keeping
- Checking stock levels and proper storage (temperature, humidity, exposure to light)
- Managing the wine cellar
Tasting & training
- Training service staff on wines, spirits and beverages
- Organization of wine events or winemaker evenings
Service to guests
- Presentation and professional serving of wine
- Decanting and tempering wine
- Advice on spirits, digestifs and other beverages
Quality assurance
- Checking for cork damage and off-flavors
- Ensuring a high-quality wine service
- Monitoring guest feedback and adapting the offer
