Sommelier (m/f/d)

all year round

Österreich, Oberösterreich

Description

Do you have a passion for wine and want to further develop it in an inspiring environment? A special role awaits you at our vibrant 4*S Post am See in Traunkirchen: As a sommelier, you’ll be responsible for both of our culinary highlights—the Belétage and the Poststube 1327—and will delight our guests with an exceptional wine selection.

Under the leadership of Katharina Gnigler (Gault&Millau Sommelier of the Year 2025), our Head of Wine & Service, we embody the values of the Gröller Hospitality group and work together to take our passion for wine to the next level.

Your workplace blends tradition and modernity: The Belétage (Gault&Millau 2026: 3 toques, Falstaff Guide 2025: New Opening of the Year and 93 points; host Julia Seid is the winner of the 2026 Innovation Award from Kalk & Kegel) features an urban bar with casual, sharing-style dining—the perfect setting to celebrate wine in all its facets. The Poststube 1327 combines Austrian tavern culture with contemporary flair (Gault&Millau: 2 toques, Falstaff Guide 2026: 88 points).

What you'll be doing with us:

  • To showcase the cultural diversity of the world of wine to an international audience and thereby create a unique guest experience.
  • We look forward to your valuable contribution to the creation of the wine and beverage menus, tailored to our new philosophy, in collaboration with our Head of Wine & Service, your host, and the management team.
  • You are responsible for the proper storage and presentation of our wines.
  • You'll work with our winemakers to plan wine tastings.
  • You'll take note of our guests' culinary preferences and use them to build loyalty among our regulars.
  • Carrying out all service procedures—from mise en place to billing, maintaining the wine cellar, and much more.
  • Adhering to quality and hygiene standards is second nature to you.
  • Sales-oriented, high-quality advice on all beverage recommendations.
  • Handle food and beverages with care.

What you bring to the table:

  • Wine and beverages are your personal passion.
  • You already have several years of professional experience in the high-end segment.
  • You have completed training programs in the fields of wine and beverage culture.
  • You have extensive knowledge of wines from around the world.
  • You excel in communication and presentation skills.
  • You enjoy working in an environment that treats international guests to culinary delights.
  • A strong focus on guests and service, as well as polished manners and a impeccable appearance, come naturally to you.
  • In this role, you'll work very independently and efficiently.
  • You're familiar with the philosophy of Gröller Hospitality, and you enjoy embodying the brand and making it a tangible experience for our guests.

What to Expect:

  • Full board provided at work, even on your days off
  • Accommodations at our employee hotel by the lake, with a terrace and parking
  • Customized training and professional development opportunities to support your professional and personal growth; room to contribute your own ideas and actively shape the workplace
  • Regular employee events that strengthen team cohesion
  • Employee Benefits at Our Facilities: Working on Lake Traunsee—with a wide range of recreational activities right on your doorstep
