Restaurant Staff Member for Afternoon & Evening Shifts (m/f/d)

Winter season

Österreich, Salzburg, Region Obertauern

Description

We are a family-run 4-star hotel with 33 rooms in the heart of Obertauern —with a clear focus on quality, personalized hospitality, and a strong team.

For the 2026/27 winter season, we are looking for an experienced restaurant server (m/f/d) for afternoon and evening shifts.

Thanks to our hotel’s intimate size, we can provide service the way we believe it should be: personal, attentive, and professional—without any unnecessary formality.

In the afternoon, you’ll attend to our guests in the hotel and bar areas. In the evening, you’ll take charge of your own service station and guide our hotel guests through dinner as part of our half-board program.

For us, this involves more than just serving food and drinks. You’ll get to know your guests, anticipate their needs, offer advice on beverages and wine, and, through your personality, play a key role in creating the restaurant’s atmosphere.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Independently managing your own service station
  • Afternoon, beverage, and bar service
  • Professional food and beverage service during dinner
  • Advising our guests on beverages and wine
  • Preparing for and following up on daily service
  • Mise en place and organization of your own work area
  • Personal and attentive care for our hotel guests
  • Close coordination with the kitchen, front desk, and service management
  • Adherence to our service and quality standards

The Alpina Way

For us, good service begins with personality.

The Alpina Way stands for genuine hospitality, mutual respect, reliability, personal responsibility, and a team that works together.

That’s why we aren’t looking for restaurant staff who simply “go through the motions” at their stations. We’re looking for a host or hostess who sees the big picture, thinks proactively, takes responsibility, and takes joy in ensuring our guests have a special stay.

With us, guests aren’t just room numbers—and employees aren’t just personnel numbers.

You’ll work in a small, intimate hotel with short decision-making chains and clear processes. If you bring experience and qualifications to the table, we’ll assign you the appropriate level of responsibility. And if you’d like to advance your career, you’ll have the opportunity to do so within our Hotel Alpina Group.

Your Smile in the Alps —if you love your job, are a host by conviction, and would like to become part of a professional and close-knit team, we look forward to getting to know you.

Requirements

You are a host by conviction and already have experience in professional restaurant or hotel service.

For this position, we’re looking for an experienced and reliable individual who can independently manage their own service station and enjoys providing personalized service to our guests.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Completed training as a restaurant server or equivalent practical work experience
  • Several years of experience in restaurant or hotel service is a plus
  • Confident and independent management of your own service station
  • Experience in food and beverage service
  • Good knowledge of wine service or an interest in developing this skill
  • Friendly, well-groomed, and professional demeanor
  • Enjoyment of personal interaction with our guests
  • A structured, independent, and responsible work ethic
  • A keen eye for detail, cleanliness, and service quality
  • Ability to work as part of a team and willingness to actively support colleagues
  • Ability to handle pressure and remain calm even during a busy evening service
  • Good German language skills for communicating with our guests
  • Knowledge of English is a plus

What’s particularly important to us—the Alpina Way

Professional experience is important for this position. However, your attitude is just as important to us.

For us, the Alpina Way means: hospitality with a personal touch, reliability, mutual respect, personal responsibility, and genuine teamwork.

We’re looking for employees who don’t just run their station—they take ownership of it. They stay on top of their work, contribute ideas, communicate with the kitchen and colleagues, and pitch in when support is needed.

You don’t have to be stiff or overly formal here. Rather, we’re looking for someone who combines professional service with natural warmth.

If you enjoy your work, can work independently, and would like to join us in ensuring that our guests at Hotel Alpina feel personally welcome, then you’ll be a great fit for our team.
