Reception Manager / Front Office Manager, Acting on Behalf of Management (m/f/d)

all year round

Österreich, Tirol, Seefeld

Description

As part of our hotel’s new management structure, we are looking for someone who wants to do more than just manage the front desk: You will lead the front office and be responsible for scheduling and staffing across all hotel departments—reception, dining, kitchen, housekeeping, and wellness—and, after a six-month training period, serve as the deputy to our director. You will be the operational backbone of the hotel and the top manager after the director.

Work schedule: Full-time, year-round position, 5-day workweek · Start date: By agreement, as soon as possible · Reporting line: Directly to management

The Inntalerhof is a fourth-generation, family-run 4-star panoramic hotel located 1,200 m above the Inn Valley in Mösern near Seefeld: 71 rooms, suites, and vacation apartments; Tyrolean ¾ gourmet board; two à la carte restaurants (9ers and Tiroler Stub’m); Pizzeria 9ers Pizza, INN Bar with a panoramic terrace, wellness area with a pool and saunas, and a seminar area for up to 80 people. We are transitioning to year-round operation with only brief, scheduled closures. Learn more at inntalerhof.at/hotel/jobs.

Tasks

  • Management of the entire front office department: check-in/check-out, guest services, correspondence, cash management, and complaint handling
  • Acting as deputy to the hotel director after a six-month training period: overall operational responsibility in her absence; point of contact for guests, the team, and partners
  • Creating hotel-wide duty rosters and staffing schedules for all departments, including the wellness area—in compliance with labor laws and the collective bargaining agreement
  • Staff management: onboarding, development, and motivation of teams; conducting performance reviews in collaboration with management
  • Quality assurance at all guest touchpoints; further development of standards and processes
  • Close collaboration with the reservations manager (occupancy, arrival planning, VIP and regular guest support)
  • Budget planning and budget responsibility for the department; participation in management’s budget, investment, and staffing decisions

Requirements

  • Several years of management experience in the front office of a 4- or 5-star resort hotel, ideally with experience as an executive assistant or in the Rooms Division
  • Proven experience in creating duty rosters and staff scheduling, with a solid understanding of Austrian labor laws regarding working hours
  • Very good knowledge of PMS systems (Casablanca preferred), proficient in MS Office
  • Natural authority, decisiveness, and a hands-on approach; a role model in demeanor and understanding of service
  • Excellent German (C2), business-fluent English (B2+), additional languages welcome
  • Unrestricted access to the Austrian labor market
