Restaurant Manager (m/f/d)

all year round

Österreich, Salzburg

Description

You’re the host, the leader, and the person who keeps everything running smoothly in the restaurant. Together with your team, you ensure that great service turns into authentic Forsthofalm moments—personal, professional, and full of character.

You lead and develop our restaurant and bar team, organize daily operations, and ensure that our quality and service standards are upheld. Through daily power briefings, training sessions, and your presence on the floor, you provide your team with direction and create a work environment where collaboration and personal responsibility thrive.

In doing so, you yourself act as a host: You are attentive to our guests, anticipate their needs, find effective solutions to complaints, and maintain your composure and a clear overview even on busy evenings.

In addition to the guest experience, you also keep an eye on the business side of things. You manage staff scheduling, encourage authentic upselling, handle inventory orders, and work with us to further develop our wine, bar, and beverage menus. In doing so, you’ll collaborate closely with the kitchen, front desk, and management.

And when it counts, you roll up your sleeves and pitch in—whether on the floor or at the bar.

Requirements

Your Responsibilities

  • Operational management and organization of the restaurant and bar areas
  • Leading, motivating, and developing the entire service team
  • Creating work schedules and organizing efficient staff deployment
  • Ensuring our service, quality, and hygiene standards
  • Active guest relations and professional complaint management
  • Conducting daily power briefings and organizing training sessions
  • Promoting upselling and driving revenue growth
  • Ordering merchandise and verifying deliveries, delivery slips, and returns
  • Maintaining and updating the wine, bar, and beverage menus, as well as managing the point-of-sale system
  • Organizing and managing table reservations
  • Working closely with the kitchen, front desk, and management
  • Actively assisting with service or at the bar when support is needed

What You Bring to the Table

Above all, you are one thing: a passionate host or hostess. At the same time, you enjoy leading people, taking on responsibility, and working with your team to further develop the restaurant area.

  • Completed training in the restaurant or hospitality industry, or comparable professional experience
  • Several years of experience in upscale service, ideally already in a leadership role
  • Experience in employee management, team organization, and shift scheduling
  • Excellent knowledge of food, beverages, and wine
  • A confident and warm demeanor toward guests and employees
  • Experience in guest relations and professional complaint handling
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and understanding of revenue, staffing, and sales promotion
  • Knowledge of hygiene regulations and allergens
  • Organizational skills and a structured, self-directed approach to work
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for sharing knowledge
  • Calmness and decisiveness, even when things are running smoothly in the restaurant
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and lead by example for your team

What’s particularly important to us: You’re not just managing a restaurant area—you’re leading people. You provide guidance to your team, stay close to our guests, and, together with your team, create an atmosphere that fits the Forsthofalm.

In short: You are a host, a leader, and a team player—and you give our restaurant its own unique vibe.
