Description
You love good drinks, interacting directly with people, and working at a bar that’s about more than just serving drinks.
You’ll professionally prepare cocktails, long drinks, spirits, wine, as well as coffee and hot beverages, and personally advise our guests on their choices. We’re not interested in pushy sales tactics: you’ll listen, figure out what suits each guest, and make authentic recommendations.
Before service begins, you’ll ensure everything is ready through a structured mise en place. Throughout the evening, you’ll keep track of everything even when the bar is really busy. Afterward, closing procedures and inventory checks are just as much a part of your job.
You’ll work closely with our restaurant team, assist with beverage service as needed, and share your knowledge with commis chefs, apprentices, and interns.
Requirements
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Professional preparation of cocktails, mixed drinks, spirits, as well as coffee and hot beverages
- Providing personalized service and advice to our guests at the bar and at the bar tables
- Serving beverages and collecting payments
- Preparing the bar and carrying out a structured mise en place
- Carrying out daily setup and closing procedures
- Authentic recommendations and proactive upselling
- Monitoring inventory levels of goods and beverages in the bar area
- Ensuring order and cleanliness at the bar
- Adherence to our quality, hygiene, and service standards
- Supporting and providing professional guidance to commis de bar, apprentices, and interns
- Assisting the restaurant team with beverage service as needed
- Working closely with the restaurant, kitchen, and other departments at the Forsthofalm
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
You don’t need to know every cocktail in the world by heart. What matters most is that you enjoy being a host or hostess, love good drinks, and are eager to expand your knowledge.
- Training in the food service or hospitality industry, bartending certification, or comparable hands-on experience
- Experience working behind the bar or in service, ideally in upscale hospitality or the restaurant industry
- Career changers with relevant bar and service experience are also welcome
- Strong skills in preparing cocktails and mixed drinks
- Knowledge of spirits and beverages
- Basic knowledge of wine
- Knowledge of preparing specialty coffees
- Knowledge of hygiene regulations and allergens
- Enjoy working directly with guests and providing personalized recommendations
- A neat and professional appearance
- A structured, organized, and reliable work ethic
- Sense of responsibility and ability to work independently
- Team spirit and respectful communication
- Calm and composed, even when the bar is busy
- Willingness to share knowledge and support younger team members
